My role is to organise the programme and work closely with our team to help you to gain the most out of your experience.

Apples & Pears is an established company with an excellent reputation. The team are undoubtedly our biggest asset - all of whom specialise in different areas. We've run over 30 successful retreats so far. I hope you do your research and decide to attend one of our courses soon.

I have a Sport Science background - over the past 10 years I have taught Physical Education to children and adults of all ages in schools and health clubs.

Duncan - Personal Trainer

Hi, my name is Duncan and I'm here to inspire, motivate and assist you on your journey to achieving both your fitness and lifestyle goals.

Whether you want to lose inches, increase your fitness levels, train for a specific challenge/sport or just need a little motivation, I will be with you every step of the way giving you my expertise, professional advice and dedication.

I have been Personal training for 8 years now after my professional rugby career was ended by injury. During this time I have completed my Sport Science degree and gained valuable industry experience and qualifications. I have also enjoyed a career as a Royal Marine and assisted in training members of England's World Cup Winning Squad and more recently spent time at the English Institute of Sport, conditioning elite sportsmen and sportswomen.

John - Personal Trainer

Hi, my name is John Harrop and I am a Personal Trainer, Pilates Teacher, Nutrition Coach and Mind Skills Coach. I've enjoyed being involved with Apples and Pears since it's inception and am consistently thrilled with the positive changes we make to peoples' lives. My role is to ensure that everyone leaves the retreat with all the knowledge they need for exercise, nutrition, relaxation and mental clarity. By using these skills on an ongoing basis they will succeed forever..

I believe in continually learning and therefore update my knowledge regularly by attending cutting-edge courses. I also believe that we should all challenge ourselves, and over the last four years I've competed in a bodybuilding competition, a triathlon, the first Yoga-Aid in the UK, and a 50km off-road mountain bike race. I'll be taking part in the bike race again (Dorset Dirt) in September 2010 and in a faster time.

Ex Royal Marine and keen rugby player, like Duncan, ended due to injury. I'll take you for 1:1 training, team games, boxing and circuits - all different and more fun than sessions you've done before. Remind me about Pete's memory game too.

Whatever your size, age or fitness level, all I ask is that you turn up on time with an attitude to try your best. We'll all support you though a tough but inspiring programme.

Sabine - Personal Trainer

Hi, my name is Sabine. I decided to become an exercise instructor because I love sport and wanted to share my skills with others. In my teenage years I competed in swimming and a rowing events at International level.

I enjoy working alongside Katie and the team at Apples and Pears retreat where I teach clients to improve their swimming technique and if necessary, confidence in the the water. I also instruct Aqua Aerobics, Step Aerobics (beginner and intermediate levels), Body Conditioning and Fitness Ballet. I look forward to working with you to get back on track with your weight and fitness.

Nici - Nutritionalist

Nici has used her skills to design an exciting but healthy menu for the Apples and Pears Retreat. Great care has been taken to include seasonal, fresh and local foods. The menu provides an energising, revitalising dietary programme. It is aimed at sustainable, life-style changes to encourage healthy weight loss whilst complimenting the exercise programme.

Nici's passion for good food led her to taking a science foundation course, followed by a degree in Nutritional Therapy. She graduated with a BSc (Hons) and trained as a Practitioner of Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) in life coaching.

Her training has enabled her to treat many health concerns in one-to-one consultations and promote healthy weight loss and eating via her Fit 'N' Fabulous Club, presentations and schoolwork.
